Rhode Island Housing Market Sees Price Gains in 2010, Slower Sales

Warwick, RI, January 26, 2011… According to home sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR), 2010 showed an upward trend in prices, reversing a downward trend that began in 2005. The median price of single family homes sold last year was $210,000, up five percent from 2009's median price of $199,400. Full Story

Realtors Report Positive Signs in December Home Sales

Warwick, RI, January 20, 2011…The Rhode Island single family market gained some momentum in the last month of the year, according to December sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.  The median price of single family home sales rose half of a percent from November and 5 percent from 12 months prior.   Full Story

Home Prices Up, Sales Down in November

Warwick, RI, December 22, 2010…In November, the median price of single family homes rose two percent to $209,000, up from $205,000 in November 2009, according to statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.  The number of single family home sales fell 31 percent from a year earlier when sales were booming.   Full Story

October Home Prices Up, Sales Down

Warwick, RI, November 30, 2010…Home sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) show that the median price of single family homes rose four percent from September to October and was up 10 percent from October 2009. 3rd Quarter Real Estate Sales Data Shows Median Price Up, Sales Down

Warwick, RI, October 29, 2010….Though single family home sales have risen month to month since July, total third quarter sales of Rhode Island single family homes fell 30 percent from a year earlier.  Distressed sales – those involving foreclosure or short sale - dropped 46 percent.  Full Story

September Sales Decrease From Year Prior, Median Price Rises

Warwick, RI, October 25, 2010… September single family home sales fell 25 percent from September, 2009, according to statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR). August Sales Continue Drop

Warwick, RI, September 24, 2010… Though single family home sales rose slightly from July to August of this year – up four percent - sales volume fell 29 percent in August from the same period a year earlier. The drop marks the second consecutive month of declining year over year sales.  Full Story

Prices Rise in July, Sales Drop

Warwick, RI, August 27, 2010… The number of single family home sales fell markedly in July, down 34 percent from July 2009, though the median price rose eight percent to $227,500 last month from $210,000 a year prior.  The figures released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) also showed the number of distressed sales – foreclosures and short sales – down 54 percent from a year ago.  Full Story

REALTORS Release 2ND Quarter Statistics

Warwick, RI…July 27, 2010 Second quarter sales statistics showed existing single family home sales up 10 percent from second quarter 2009 according to data released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR). The single family median price also increased seven percent, to $220,000 from $206,000 the year prior. June monthly statistics released last week showed the same upward trend in sales, contrasting national statistics from the National Association of Realtors, which showed a declining number of sales in June.  Full Story

Home Sales and Prices Rise in June

Warwick, RI – July 22, 2010…The number of sales and median price of single family homes increased in June according to statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. Eight hundred and ninety-seven (897) single family homes were sold last month, far surpassing the 667 sales of the previous month.  Sales were up 11 percent from the June 2009 level of 805. Full Story

May Home Sales Continue Climb

Warwick, RI – June 22, 2010…May sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors showed sales and median price of existing single family homes and condominiums up year over year.  Single family home sales were up marginally from 666 home sales in May 2009 to 667 last month.  Median price rose five percent from $190,000 May 2009 to $199,900.  Condo sales surged 22 percent and median price rose 14 percent to $181,925.  The median price of single family homes and condominiums sold through conventional means, not foreclosure or short sale, was $228,500 and $208,500 respectively. April Home Sales Show Double Digit Increase

Warwick, RI – May 25, 2010…April sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors showed sales of existing single family homes up 26 percent, from 529 sales in April 2009 to 668 sales last month.  Single family home sales have seen increases in sales volume for the past 13 months with the exception of February of this year which saw a minimal decline. Housing Prices and Sales Increase in First Quarter

Warwick, RI - April 22, 2010… According to statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, the state’s housing market showed strong signs of rebounding in the first quarter.  Sales of single family homes were up 8.5 percent from first quarter of 2009 and median price rose 7.2 percent, from $180,000 last year to $193,000 this year. February Home Sales Decline Offset by Price Increase

Warwick, RI - March 23, 2010…February sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors showed sales of existing single family homes down for the first time since January, 2009. Sales declined 2.7 percent since February 2009, from 401 last year to 390 last month.  Pending sales however, those under contract but not yet closed, were up 8.9 percent, indicating that the dip may be just an anomaly in an otherwise steady uphill climb. Home Prices/Sales Continue to Climb in January

Warwick, RI, February 25, 2010…The median price of single family home sales rose 14.3 percent in Rhode Island from January 2009 to January 2010 according to sales data released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.  Median price, which reflects the marketing mix (size and type) of properties sold and not the value of the same property over time, rose to $200,000 from $175,000 in January 2009. RI Realtor Statistics Point To Continued Housing Market Recovery

Warwick, RI, January 28, 2010… December home sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) indicate a continued recovery in the Rhode Island housing market. Rhode Island Sees Annual Increase in Single Family Home Prices in November for the First Time Since Mid 2006

Warwick, RI, December 22, 2009…The November median price of Rhode Island single family home sales increased 1.2 percent to $205,000 from $202,500 the year prior.  The gain marks the first month that median price has risen since July of 2006.  The news followed a report from Zillow, a national real estate tracker, which recognized Rhode Island as second only to Boston in having the largest gain in home values in 2009. Home Sales Continue to Climb in October

Warwick, RI, November 25, 2009…Rhode Island existing single family home sales rose 28.9 percent in October from the year prior, marking the seventh consecutive month of rising sales in the Rhode Island market.  Inventory also continued its downward trend, down 5.4 percent, the lowest supply of single family homes on the market since early 2006. Currently, there is a 6.3–month supply of homes on the market.  A six-month supply is considered a normal balance of demand between buyers and sellers. Full Story

Realtor Data Shows Tax Credit Improved Housing Market Throughout The Year
