RI Association of REALTORS® Announces 2009 RI REALTOR of the Year

Warwick, RI, October 26, 2009…The Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) has announced that Alyce Kleczek of Bay Realty in Narragansett was chosen by her peers as 2009 Realtor of the Year.  The award recognizes one of more than 4200 Realtors statewide for their dedication to the Realtor organization and their local communities.  It is the highest annual honor awarded by the state association.  The winner is chosen from five Realtors recognized by one of five local Rhode Island Realtor boards. Kleczek also received an award for Distinguished Service to the State-Wide Multiple Listing Service at the 2009 RIAR Recognition and Installation Dinner on October 22nd.

Kleczek has held numerous positions in the local, state and national associations of Realtors. She will serve as 2010 President of the Kent Washington Association of Realtors and recently stepped down as President of the State-Wide Multiple Listing Service, a position she held for the past two years.  She is the chair of the KWAOR Bylaws and Strategic Planning Committees and a member of the RIAR Bylaws, Strategic Planning, Professional Standards and Forms committees.  Kleczek is a certified real estate instructor and a RIAR Mediator and Parliamentarian.  She resides with her husband Ed in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Other candidates for the RI Realtor of the Year award included Michael Alves of Elite Commercial, the recipient of the Commercial and Appraisal Board of Realtors 2009 Realtor of the Year Award; Mary Moniz of RE/MAX Professional Newport, recipient of the Newport County Board of Realtors 2009 Realtor of the Year award; Susan Stamford of Century 21 Crossroads, the Northern RI Board of Realtors 2009 Realtor of the Year award winner; and Joseph McCarthy of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, winner of the Greater Providence Board of Realtors 2009 Realtor of the Year award.
