2013 A Year of Solid Growth in Rhode Island's Housing Market

Warwick, RI, January 30, 2014… Rhode Island sales of single family homes remained relatively flat in the fourth quarter of 2013, rising just one percent from the fourth quarter of 2012.  The median price of those sales rose three percent to $201,000.  Full Story

Inventory Reaches Multi-Year Low

Warwick, RI, January 29, 2014… Statistics released by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors show that the single family home median sales price rose eight percent in December from 12 months earlier, to $200,000. The number of sales however, fell by 2 percent. Full Story

October Home Sales Stay Strong in RI

Double Digit Housing Gains in the Third Quarter

Warwick, RI, November 5, 2013…Rising interest rates seemed to spur sales in the third quarter.  Single family home sales statistics released by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) today show a 19 percent gain in sales activity from the same time last year. Median price also made substantial gains, up ten percent to $218,200, thanks in large part to a decline in financially distressed sales. Full Story

Summer Home Sales Hot According to Realtor Sales Statistics

Warwick, RI, September 20, 2013… According to sales statistics released by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors today, the median price of single family home sales was $225,000, up 10 percent from August 2012. Single family foreclosure and short sales dropped to 16 percent of total sales – excluding those distressed sales, the median price was $245,000. Full Story

Median single family home price rose to $209,900 in the second quarter, up 10 percent from April through June, 2012 and the highest second quarter median price since 2010, when sales and median price saw a boost thanks to the homeowners' tax credit then in effect.  Full Story

Rhode Island Housing Market Hits Recovery Milestone in May

Warwick, RI - June 25, 2013... In real estate circles, a six-month supply of properties for sale is considered a healthy market which reflects a balancedalignment between demand created by buyers and supply of homes listed by sellers. After years of excess supply, the Rhode Island housing market finally hit that equilibrium in May in all categories of housing - single and multi-family homes, and condos.  It appears that sharp declines in foreclosures and short sales have helped to alleviate the state’s prior housing woes. Healthier Spring Selling Season for RI Housing Market

Warwick, RI - May 30, 2013... Rhode Island’s housing market continued to show progress in April with the number of sales of single family homes up seven percent from April, 2012 according to data released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.  The median price of $180,000 was three percent higher than a year ago owing to a 22 percent reduction in the number of foreclosure and short sales. Warwick, RI, April 30, 2013…The uptick in median sales price of single family homes that began late last year continues according to first quarter sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. Home Prices Continue to Rise

Warwick, RI, April 26, 2013…The median price of single family home sales rose nine percent in March from a year ago, to $190,000 according to statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. Warwick, RI, March 28, 2013 - Rhode Island's single family home sales showed double digit price appreciation from a year earlier in February, with median price rising from $170,000 to $189,500. February marked the fifth consecutive month of increasing prices. Full Story

Condo Market Shows Strong Gains in January

Housing Market Pointed in Right Direction for 2013
