Sales Continue to Tick Up in Last Quarter of 2011

Warwick, RI, January 24, 2012... The Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) released data today indicating that sales activity in the state's housing market has been trending up, with sales rising for the second consecutive quarter during the last three months of 2011. Full Story

Home Sales Up in December

Warwick, RI, January 19, 2012…The number of Rhode Island single-family homes sold last month increased 19 percent from December 2010.  December was the sixth consecutive month of year over year increases. Pending sales – those sales under contract by not yet closed – also rose.  Pending sales were up 17 percent from the year prior according to the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR). Sales Continue to Grow in Home Market

December 20, 2011 - Warwick, RI...Single family homes sales continued to rise in November, according to sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. Five hundred and thirty-three (533) homes sold in November, up from 505 in November, 2010, a six percent increase. Full Story

REALTORS® Release Third Quarter & September Housing Sales

Warwick, RI, October 25, 2011…Today the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) issued its third quarter sales data which showed single family home sales up 17 percent from the same period last year.  Sales activity has been slowly increasing since the dramatic slowdown following the expiration of the homebuyer tax credit in July, 2010. REALTORS® Warn Homeowners About Changes to the Mortgage Interest Deduction

Warwick, RI, October 5, 2011…The Rhode Island Association of Realtors and State-Wide Multiple Listing Service launched a consumer awareness campaign this week to alert homeowners to discussions in Washington centered on changes to the mortgage interest deduction (MID). Changes to the tax code are part of ongoing discussions to correct the federal deficit but Realtors warn that modification or elimination of all or part of the MID could have devastating effects on the economy.  Full Story

REALTORS Release August Home Sales

Warwick, RI, September 21, 2011… A look at August home sales shows an increase of single family home sales of 22.3 percent from last year and an increase in pending sales - those under contract but not yet closed- of 8.4 percent. The number of homes on the market also decreased since August 2010, down 6.3 percent according to data released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. Full Story

Housing Sales Up in July

Warwick, RI, August 18, 2011… July single family homes sales increased 22 percent in Rhode Island from the year prior, an expected increase due to the slow sales activity in July of last year following the anticipated expiration of the federal home buyer tax credit.  The credit expired on September 30, 2010 but was previously set to expire on June 30th of that year. Realtors Release Statistics for First Half of 2011

Warwick, RI, August 5, 2011… According to data from the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, single family home sales during the first six months of this year showed a median sales price of $200,000, down just one percent from January through June last year, but up six percent from the 2009 median price of $189,000. Realtors Release 2nd Quarter Sales Statistics

Warwick, RI, July 26, 2011…Today the Rhode Island Association of Realtors released home sales data for the second quarter of 2011 which showed a median price of single family home sales of $205,000, down two percent from the second quarter of 2010.  However, in comparing year to year, the Realtors cautioned that sales and median price increased significantly during the second quarter of 2010 owing to the federal home buyer tax credit in place at the time which was set to expire at the end of June, 2010.  Full Story

Rhode Island Housing Market Shows Signs of Recovery

Warwick, RI, July 19, 2011… June home sales data released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors show sales of single family homes up 16 percent from May to June but down 22 percent from June 2010.  Six hundred and ninety-nine (699) single family homes sold in last month.  The number of sales has more than doubled since February when 340 single family homes sold. Realtors Report Price Gains in May

Warwick, RI, June 23, 2011… Rhode Island’s single family home market saw a five percent gain in median price in May from the prior year, and an 11 percent gain from the prior month.  The May single family, median sales price was $210,000.  The median price of multi-family properties rose as well, up 11 percent from May 2010.  The condominium market remained relatively stable, with median price declining just one percent.  Full Story

Rhode Island's Housing Recovery Loses Strength in April as Expected

Warwick, RI, May 25, 2011…Single family housing sales fell 26 percent in April from a year earlier, marking the tenth consecutive month of year to year decline, according to statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.  Median price also fell, down seven percent from April 2010 to $190,000, reversing an upward trend in median price that began in November, 2009. Realtors Release 1st Quarter Sales Statistics

Warwick, RI, May 3, 2011… The Rhode Island Association of Realtors released sales statistics today which indicated that the median price of existing single family home sales rose one percent  during the first quarter to $195,000 from $193,000 in the first quarter of 2010.  Sales activity in January through March declined 11 percent.  The number of homes sold through short sale or foreclosure dropped 22 percent. RI Median Home Price Increases in February

Warwick, RI, March 23, 2011… According to the most recent statistics released by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, the median price of single family homes rose eight percent in February, to $205,000, up from $189,950 in February, 2010.  The last time the February median price was higher than $205,000 was in 2008. Full Story

Realtors Release January Sales Data

Warwick, RI, February 24, 2011...Rhode Island existing home sales were stable in January, falling less than one percent from 395 single family homes sold in January, 2010 to 392 last month.  According to sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR), the median price also declined slightly to $198,250 last month from $200,000 the year prior, a decline of just under one percent.  The number of foreclosures and short sales decreased 23 percent. Full Story

Rhode Island Housing Market Sees Price Gains in 2010, Slower Sales

Warwick, RI, January 26, 2011… According to home sales statistics released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR), 2010 showed an upward trend in prices, reversing a downward trend that began in 2005.
